What Go does
Go turns a short keyword into a web address. Once your browser is set up, type go wiki in the address bar, and your browser opens the wiki. You do not have to remember the address, search for it, or keep a bookmark.
The keywords belong to everybody who uses them. Any signed-in user can add a keyword, change where it points, or give it aliases. When a page moves, one edit sends everybody to the new address.
How to set up your browser
Chrome partially configures Go on its own, but leaves it deactivated. So you need to activate it, and change the shortcut to go. Both are in Chrome's settings.

Open Chrome's settings by pasting this link into the address bar
chrome://settings/searchEngines
- Alternatively, open the settings yourself then navigate to Search engine, then Manage search engines and site search
- Find Go under Inactive shortcuts
- Select Activate
- Select the pencil icon next to the activated entry and replace the contents of the Shortcut with go, then save
If Go is not in that list, load this page again first: select the address bar and press Enter. A refresh does not work. Then look in the settings again.
If it is still not there, add it by hand. Select Add beside Site search, and fill in these three boxes.

Site search needs Chrome on a computer. The Android and iPhone apps have no such setting.

Firefox calls this a search shortcut. Follow the steps below to add it manually.
- Open Firefox's settings and select Search. Or copy this address into your address bar, which opens that page directly: about:preferences#search
- Go down to Search Shortcuts and select Add
- Fill in the three boxes below, in the order the Add Search Engine box lists them, then select Add Engine
- Search engine name
- Go
- URL with %s in place of search term
- https://go.internal.hippodigital.cloud/go?q=%s
- Keyword (optional)

Firefox may also offer to add Go on its own, from the address bar, once you have searched with the box at the top of this page. Give it the keyword go afterwards, on the same Search Shortcuts screen.
This works in Firefox on a computer and on Android. Firefox on an iPhone or an iPad has no such setting.

This needs Edge on a computer. The Android and iPhone apps have no such setting.
This isn't supported by Safari, or any browsers on iPhone and iPad. You can use the search box at the top of this page, but that isn't as convenient as the keyword redirect from the address bar the other browsers offer.
